Mason
Zeigler Claims Podium Effort in World 100 Prelim!
(September
11, 2022) From September 7-10, all eyes in the Dirt Late
Model community were fixated on Eldora Speedway. The action kicked
off at the Rossburg, Ohio speedplant on Wednesday night with the
conclusion of the rain-postponed 'Dirt Late Model Dream' from
back in June. With 86 laps remaining in the crown jewel contest,
Mason Zeigler restarted the race a lap down and was using it as
a glorified test session. Mason turned several laps and eventually
retired from the $128,000 to win affair in the twenty-first finishing
position.
The 52nd Annual
'World 100' then took place at the "Big E," with the
three-day extravaganza starting with a pair of $12,000 to win
Twin 25 preliminary programs. On Thursday evening, Mason grabbed
the fifth and final transfer spot through his heat race and later
blasted past ten competitors during his 25-lap feature to claim
a solid ninth place effort. In a similar show on Friday, Mason
won his heat race prior to landing on the podium in third in his
25-lapper behind only victor Bobby Pierce and runner-up Kyle Bronson!
With a $55,000
paycheck on the line on Saturday in the 'World 100,' Mason unfortunately
suffered a flat tire on the first lap of his heat race, but later
rebounded from the tail to earn the third and final transfer spot
into the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza. The Chalk Hill, Pennsylvania
ace was then swept up in a multi-car wreck on a lap 18 restart
and was relegated to a disappointing twenty-eighth place showing
in this year's edition of the 'World 100.' Complete results from
the last four days at Eldora Speedway can be found online by clicking

pushed back to Sunday due to inclement weather. At Boone Speedway
